Jeff Ward needed to earn maximum points in Iowa to deny Michael Chrobok his first PGRL championship. Ward did just that on August 15th — claiming the stage and race win, hard charger, and most laps led bonuses. The impressive effort moved the driver of the #9 into a deadlock with Chrobok for the points lead. With three more wins, Jeff Ward broke the tie and took home the Season 5 crown.

Chrobok finished the race in 2nd and claimed the runner-up spot in the standings for the third consecutive season. Mike Rasimas earned the final step on the podium. Marc Cohn and Gael Brooks both enjoyed impressive runs, rounding out the top 5.

The Pretty Good Racing League returns to action on September 5th for Season 6 — a throwback series featuring the Gen4 cars and Trucks that is sure to delight fans and bring new drivers to the track. As always, PGRL will be broadcast live on the Virtual Grip Network at 8:50pm ET.
