Jeff Ward and Scott Eckrich are pretty good at finding Victory Lane. The Loud Pedal Motorsports duo scored their third and fourth wins of the season, respectively, last time out at Michigan, finding new ways to deny points leader Michael Chrobok that elusive checkered flag.

RACE 1 RECAP:

Scott Eckrich put his Winternode Service Plus Chevrolet on pole position with a four-lap average of 38.456 seconds. The driver of the #70 led the opening six laps before being overtaken by Michael Chrobok and Colton Salek. Chrobok appeared to be the driver to beat in the middle portion of the race, staying out front for 20 laps. But, as usual, the #72 team couldn’t close. Conservative in and out laps during green flag pit stops allowed Jeff Ward to gain ground, and with fresher tires thanks to an overcut, the #9 Chevrolet got passed the #72 with just four laps to go. Chrobok fell back to third, jumped in the closing moments by Scott Eckrich.

RACE 2 RECAP:

Birthday boy Mike Rasimas leveraged connection issues in Race 1 into a front row starting spot for Race 2. A big one on lap 1 took out several cars and cleared the way for Scott Eckrich to drive through the field, the #70 moving from 21st to the lead by lap 7. The top spot was fiercely contested by a quartet of Loud Pedal Motorsports teammates, with Eckrich, Ward, Chrobok, and Yaczik throwing sliders to take control of the race. Green flag stops again came into play, and while Chrobok executed better than the last event, it was not enough to overcome his deficit to Scott Eckrich. Eckrich claimed victory with Chrobok in second. Colton Salek rounded out the podium.

POINTS IMPLICATIONS:

On the strength of his fourth top-three finish in four races, Michael Chrobok stretched his points lead to 405 markers over hometown hero Adam Jurski. Only 21 points separate second through fifth in the standings. That’s pretty good.
