How do you conquer the track “Too Tough to Tame”? For Thomas George and Colton Salek, having the perfect pit strategy was crucial — but what that meant differed between Race 1 and 2 of the Wrong Time Watch Darlington Dash.

RACE 1 RECAP:

Scott Eckrich mooobilized a P1 starting position, setting an average time of 29.637 seconds during his four-lap qualifying run. His #70 machine paced the field for the first 46 circuits until a late caution sent crew chiefs scrambling. Eckrich opted for four fresh Goodyear tires, while Thomas George — who was running 8th at the time — opted for just two. Clean air proved king and, after executing two pivotal restarts, George held off a hard-charging Eckrich for his first win of Season 6.

RACE 2 RECAP:

Tyler Dulgar and Colton Salek lined up on the front row. Salek jumped out to an early lead that only grew as the lap count increased. Green flag pit stops became the name of the game, and a mixed bag of strategy emerged among the front-runners. Jeff Ward undercut Salek, while Mike Rasimas and Tyler Dohar attempted an overcut. When the caution flew with less than 10 to go, Ward was forced to pit again, while Salek, Rasimas, and Dohar all stayed out. Although Salek’s tires were slightly older, they were enough to hold off the trucks behind him, and the driver of the #99 parked it in Victory Lane for the second consecutive week.
