In a race that saw his two closest competitors speed down pit road, Cody “Fishbowl” Dempster executed to perfection, treating the field to a pretty good meal at Gapplebees and snapping a 19-race winless streak.
Starting on the outside of the front row, Dempster got off to an early lead, quickly passing pole-sitter Brandon Beyke, who spun his tires. Points leader Colton Salek and defending champion Scott Eckrich both worked their way to the front, settling in behind Dempster. But, on the final round of green flag stops, Eckrich and Salek both caught the L from Race Control, carrying too much speed on a tricky pit entry. The duo were relegated to finishes of 11th and 12th, respectively.
Beyke attempted a dramatic undercut to jump Cody Dempster, but the DriverTees.com Chevrolet was too fast to keep behind. Dempster led 103 laps to win the Julesburg Farms 150, finishing 4 seconds ahead of Beyke. Discount Canadian Iron Man and clibbins consumer Michael Chrobok came home a distant 3rd.
The battle at the top of the point standings intensified, with Salek’s lead decreasing to just 1 marker over Dempster and 3 over Chrobok.
